Year 5 – The Fiver Challenge

We are participating this year in the Fiver Challenge, a national competition for young
people aged from 5 – 11 years. This Challenge is free and run by Young Enterprise the UK’s leading enterprise and financial education charity,
bringing learning to life and help encourage future aspirations in young people.

Pupils are pledged £5 and have one month to set up a mini business and create a product or
service they can then sell or deliver at a profit. It’ll be great fun too!

We introduced The Fiver Challenge to the children before Spring Bank when they spent some
time thinking about what their mini business could be.

The challenge is due to officially end on Friday 28th June. On Tuesday 25th June at 2:30pm,
parents are invited to join us as the children present their products in a special enterprise
afternoon. All of the profit made during this challenge will be donated to charity linked to
our Wonderful World topic (charity tbc – will be chosen by the children).

We are all very excited about getting involved with this Challenge! Please find below a list of resources which may be helpful. Most of the work will be completed in school, however the children are more than welcome to spend time at home working on their project. Any support and encouragement you can give your child during this activity would really be appreciated.

If you have any questions, please feel free to come and see one of us.
