Year 5 – Rowan

Class Teacher: Mrs Wright

Teaching Assistant: Mrs Day

Hello and welcome to the Rowan class page!

I am really looking forward to this year and hope that the children will enjoy the teaching, learning and the range of exciting topics prepared for them this year.

During the Autumn term, we will be investigators as part of Wilsden Detective Agency! We will learn about the work of archaeologists and how they find evidence about the past – in particular, the Romans. Our work then moves onto the role of forensic scientists where we will develop our skills to solve our own investigations.

In the Spring term, Year 5 will be saving the world, in particular, the rainforests. We will learn about the geography of the world in order to explain the position, climate and importance of the rainforest and the impact deforestation has on the entire planet.

As we move into the Summer term, our topic, ‘To infinity and beyond!’ begins. We will learn about space, space exploration and challenge ourselves to use our knowledge to plan our own space mission!

We are very much looking forward to a fun-filled year and we hope you and your children are too!
